Privacy Policy

PDF Worker is operated by Springboat Team (“we”, “us”, “our”). For any inquiries, contact us at springboatinbox@gmail.com.

How Your Files Are Processed

PDF Worker processes your files either locally in your browser (client-side) or on our servers (server-side), depending on the tool and file size.

Client-side processing (most tools): The majority of our tools — including Compress, Merge, Split, Rotate, Watermark, Protect, and Unlock PDF — process your files entirely in your web browser regardless of file size. No data is sent to our servers. Your documents remain on your device and are not uploaded, stored, or transmitted by us.

Server-side processing (PDF to Image, Image to PDF only): These two conversion tools may use server-side processing for larger files. In that case, your files are transmitted securely over HTTPS, processed automatically in memory, and discarded immediately after conversion completes. We do not store, log, or retain uploaded files.

Passwords you enter (Protect / Unlock PDF): When you use our Protect PDF or Unlock PDF tools, any passwords you enter are processed entirely in your browser. Passwords are never transmitted to our servers, never logged, and never stored. They exist only in your browser's memory during the operation and are discarded when the page is closed.

No human access to your files: Conversions are performed by automated systems. We do not access, read, or analyze the contents of your documents, and no human reviews your files as part of providing the service.

Data We Collect

We may collect minimal usage data such as:

  • Page views and general usage statistics
  • Browser type and device category (desktop/mobile)
  • Approximate geographic region (e.g., country or city-level)
  • Basic performance metrics (e.g., page load time) to improve site reliability
  • IP addresses — temporarily stored in server memory solely for rate limiting (abuse prevention). IP data is not logged, not persisted to disk, and automatically discarded within 60 seconds

We do not collect your file contents, personal information, email addresses, or sensitive document data. If you contact us, you may choose to provide contact information, but it is not required to use our tools.

Cookies

PDF Worker uses only essential cookies (or similar local storage) to remember preferences such as dark/light mode. We do not use third-party advertising cookies and we do not use cookies to track you across other websites.

Data Retention

Client-side conversions: Files remain on your device and are not retained by us.

Server-side conversions (PDF to Image, Image to PDF): Uploaded files are processed in memory and discarded immediately after the conversion finishes. Output files are streamed directly in the HTTP response and are not saved to disk or temporarily stored on our servers.

We retain aggregated, anonymized analytics data for a limited period to understand usage trends and improve the service.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the service and your data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for data in transit
  • Access controls and least-privilege practices
  • Operational safeguards to reduce unauthorized access

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and continuously improve our security practices.

Third-Party Services

We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Vercel Analytics) to understand how the site is used and to improve performance. These services collect anonymized or aggregated metrics and are not intended to track individual users across websites.

If we add additional third-party services in the future (for example, error monitoring), we will update this policy accordingly.

Children's Privacy

PDF Worker is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International Users & Legal Compliance

PDF Worker may be used by users around the world. Where applicable, we aim to comply with relevant privacy and data protection laws (for example, the GDPR). If you have questions about your rights or how we handle data, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice within the product or on our website.
