Service Description

PDF Worker provides free, browser-based PDF tools including: PDF to Image, Image to PDF, Compress PDF, Merge PDF, Split PDF, Rotate PDF, Watermark PDF, Protect PDF, and Unlock PDF.

No account registration is required. The service is available to anyone with a modern web browser.

File Processing & Limitations

Client-side processing (7 tools): Compress, Merge, Split, Rotate, Watermark, Protect, and Unlock PDF are processed entirely in your browser. Your files are never sent to our servers for these tools.

Server-side processing (2 tools): PDF to Image and Image to PDF may use server-side processing for larger files. Files are transmitted over HTTPS, processed in memory, and discarded immediately after conversion.

File size limits:

• All tools: up to 100 MB per file

Rate limiting: Server API requests are limited to 10 requests per 60 seconds per IP address to prevent abuse.

Output Quality Disclosure

Different tools produce different output characteristics. You should understand these before using the service:

Lossless tools (no quality change): Merge, Split, Rotate, and Watermark PDF use native PDF manipulation. The original content — text, images, fonts, and formatting — is preserved exactly.

Image-based tools (quality changes): The following tools re-render pages as JPEG images, which has important implications:

• Compress PDF — Re-renders pages at reduced quality and resolution (configurable). Text in the output is image-based and no longer selectable or searchable.
• Protect PDF — Re-renders pages as JPEG (92% quality, ~144 DPI) to apply encryption. Text becomes image-based and not selectable.
• Unlock PDF — Re-renders pages as JPEG (95% quality, ~144 DPI) to remove the password. Text becomes image-based and not selectable.

We recommend keeping your original files as backup before using any tool.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service to process illegal, harmful, or infringing content
• Attempt to overload, disrupt, or abuse the service (including automated bulk requests beyond rate limits)
• Interfere with other users' ability to use the service
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or redistribute the service or its underlying code without permission

We reserve the right to block access to users who violate these terms.

Your Files & Intellectual Property

You own your files. We do not claim any rights, ownership, or license over the files you upload or the output files generated by the service.

You represent that you have the legal right to process any files you use with our tools. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the service does not infringe on the rights of any third party.

No Warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that conversions will be error-free, that output quality will meet your expectations, or that the service will be available at all times.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data or file corruption
• Loss resulting from relying on output quality
• Service interruptions or downtime

Always keep backup copies of your original files. We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from your use of the service.

Service Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. This includes adding, changing, or removing features or tools. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in a competent court of jurisdiction.
